Meet the team
Clyde and Kim du Toit
Owner
My name is Clyde du Toit, and together with my wife, Kim, we are proud to be the new owners of Fendalton NumberWorks’nWords. Our mission is to build children’s confidence and deliver expert maths and English tuition with proven results.
Kim has over 30 years of teaching experience, while I am passionate about mentoring students and tutors. For the past 4.5 years, we’ve successfully run the NumberWorks’nWords Rototuna centre, earning the Westpac New Zealand Franchise Award for ‘Franchise Excellence in Customer Engagement’ in November.
We’ve recently moved to Christchurch with our two dogs to be closer to our children and grandchildren. Outside work, we love reading, the outdoors, and spending time with family.
We’re excited to bring our knowledge and passion to Christchurch Northern area and help students thrive in their education.

Frequently asked questions
What are the lesson times?
Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, Monday to Friday, usually starting from 3:30pm. We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!
What ages do you teach?
We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).
What subjects do you teach?
At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.
What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?
Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.
