Owners

Hi, we are Alison and Chelsea, a mother and daughter team proudly owning and operating NumberWorks'nWords NorthWest. We opened NumberWorks'nWords NorthWest in 2020, after 12 years of owning and managing NumberWorks'nWords Henderson. Alison comes from a strong education background with 30+ years experience. Chelsea joined Alison in 2008 at NumberWorks'nWords Henderson, after she realised her passion for children and learning. We have always been passionate about giving every child an equal opportunity for a quality education. NumberWorks’nWords does this through our focus on the individual student and their progress towards their true potential. Our individualised approach to learning offers every student the opportunity to succeed, whether they need remedial or extension work, or just a confidence boost.

What are the lesson times?

Monday - Thursday: 3.45, 4.45 and 5.45pm

Friday: 3.45 and 4.45pm

Saturday: 10am and 11am

We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!

What ages do you teach?

We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).

What subjects do you teach?

At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.

What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?

Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.

Which schools in the area do you have students attending from?

We have students from Huapai District School, Matua Ngaru School, Waimauku School, Taupaki School, Waitakere Primary, Riverhead School, Whenuapai School, Hobsonville School, Hobsonville Point Primary, Scott Point School, St Pauls Primary, West Harbour School, Marina View School, Hellensville Primary School, Woodhill School, Massey High, Hobsonville Point Secondary School, Kaipara College, but we welcome students from all schools.

What’s the process for dropping off and picking up my child?

Parents/Caregivers are welcome to drop and go once their children are comfortable.

Does the centre have any parking?

There is some off-street parking and a drop-off zone available. Please do not use the Safestore car parks during regular business hours.

Are there amenities or shops close to your location?

Nearby amenities include Costco, a supermarket, NorthWest Mall, a gym, and a variety of cafes.

What’s the best way to find your centre?

We are located on ground level of Safestore Facility behind Mitre 10 Westgate.
