Hi, I’m Mohini! I come from a teaching background with 30 years’ experience. For almost 20 years I have taught in New Zealand classrooms, and have worked through multiple changes in the curriculum, making me aware of what students need to succeed according to national standards.

As a mother myself, I know what it’s like to want your child to feel confident and successful with their learning, and I have seen that NumberWorks’nWords is a proven model of success for all learners. Every child has different strengths and it’s my goal to take the time to tap into their strengths, learn what makes them tick and devise tailored lessons with the methods and strategies that work for them!

What are the lesson times?

Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, Monday to Friday, usually starting from 3:30pm. We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!

What ages do you teach?

We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).

What subjects do you teach?

At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.

What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?

Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.

Which schools in the area do you have students attending from?

We have students from, Birkenhead Primary, Northcote College, Northcote intermediate, Northcote Primary, Chelsea Primary, Westlake Girls High, Westlake Boys High, St Marys Primary, Northcote, Birkenhead Prim, Birkdale Intermediate, Carmel College, Kauri Park School, Manuka Primary School, Rosmini College, Takapuna Grammer, Verran Primary School, Willow Park Primary, Windy Ridge Primary, but we welcome students from all schools.

Does the centre have any parking?

There’s plenty of parking around the center, but during peak hours it can still be challenging to find a spot, so be sure to plan ahead.

Birkenhead offers a range of gyms, and our centre is just a short distance from Highbury Mall.

We are directly opposite Birkenhead Primary School, and at the junction of Huka Road.
