Owner/Manager
Hi, I’m Hyrum, owner of NumberWorks’nWords Rototuna.
I grew up in Hamilton and have been with NumberWorks’nWords since 2019, starting as an English tutor right here in the Rototuna centre. After completing my Bachelor of Arts (English) and my Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching, I knew NumberWorks’nWords provided the best opportunity to make a positive difference with a student’s learning.
Working with students on what they need, celebrating their successes and watching students become confident learners is easily the best part of this job, and that has not changed since I started tutoring. I am always happy to chat about students and to make a plan to best help them through their learning journey, so feel free to pop in and see us at the centre or give us a call!

Hiya! I’m Libby, the Assistant Manager here at NumberWorks’nWords Rototuna. I grew up in the mighty Waikato, in Matamata, and moved to Hamilton in 2022 to study at the University of Waikato. I joined the team in July 2023 as a part-time English tutor while completing my Bachelor of Communication, double majoring in Marketing and Public Relations.
After finishing my studies, I was thrilled to join the team full-time as Assistant Manager! I officially took on this role in January of 2025. It’s been such a rewarding experience, and I’ve loved the opportunity to work more closely with our amazing students every day. There’s never a day I leave the centre without a smile on my face – and I hope our students feel the same!
Helping our students grow their confidence and reach their goals is what I’m passionate about. If you want to chat, we’re always happy to help!

What are the lesson times?
Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, starting at 3:30pm, 4:30pm and 5:30pm.
What ages do you teach?
We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).
What subjects do you teach?
At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.
What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?
Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.
Which schools in the area do you have students attending from?
We proudly support students from a wide range of local schools, including Rototuna Junior and Senior High School, Rototuna Primary School, Hamilton Christian School, Endeavour School, Te Totara Primary School, Te Ao Mārama School, Waikato Waldorf School and Hukanui Primary School, as well as schools beyond the Rototuna area such as Puketaha Primary School, Peachgrove Intermediate, Hamilton Boys’ High School, St Paul’s Collegiate School, Sacred Heart Girls’ College, St John’s College, Fairfield Intermediate, Fairfield College, Waikato Diocesan School for Girls, Horsham Downs Primary School and Southwell School.

There is plenty of parking available throughout the shopping complex, and we also offer a few convenient parking spaces located right outside our building.

There are plenty of convenient amenities close to the centre, with a wide range of services in our shopping complex and the complexes just across the road, including restaurants, supermarkets, cafés, gyms, and more.
What’s the best way to find your centre?
You can find NumberWorks’nWords Rototuna in the same complex as Lonestar Rototuna. We’re in the standalone building right at the main entrance off Thomas Road, with our door located just to the left of Majestic Nails and Beauty.
