Eimear Hughes
Owner
Hi, I'm Eimear Hughes, the Owner/Manager of NumberWorks'nWords Erina. Before moving to Sydney from Belfast, Northern Ireland, in July 2007, I was a teacher and senior manager at a large primary school for over 13 years. I spent 2008 as Manager of NumberWorks'nWords St Ives before purchasing NumberWorks'nWords Mosman. In October 2022, I opened a brand-new second centre in North Sydney. I am very excited to be opening a third centre in Erina in January 2026.
I am a passionate educator who thrives on helping young learners maximise their potential. As a parent of two young children, I understand the challenges students face today. Many students are unhappy at school, struggling or bored, and that is where we can help.
When you visit any of our three centres, you will first notice the buzz of excitement and the welcoming environment. You will see students working on their own individual programs, supported by their tutors, having fun while learning and celebrating their successes. I am proud of our caring and respectful culture that motivates and inspires our students. I love seeing them build confidence and feel proud and successful. We are an award-winning tutoring centre, and the team and I look forward to meeting you and supporting your child’s learning journey.

Hi I'm Immie. Having been both a student and tutor at NumberWorks'nWords, I have a deep understanding of how beneficial our individualised programs are for each student. Hi I’m Jess. Having been both a student and tutor at NumberWorks'nWords Mosman, I understand the difference that fun and praise can make to a child's learning. I love being a part of that ‘lightbulb’ moment, when a child goes from struggling with a concept to being able to understand and gain new confidence in their abilities.

Frequently asked questions
What are the lesson times?
Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, Monday to Friday, usually starting from 3:30pm. We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!
What ages do you teach?
We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).
What subjects do you teach?
At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.
What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?
Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.
Which schools in the area do you have students attending from?
We have students from North Sydney Demonstration, Marist Catholic College (Primary and High School), ANZAC Park Public School, Cammeray Public School, North Bridge Public School, Wenona (Junior and Senior School), Neutral Bay Public School, Mosman High School, Shore (Primary and High School), Riverview, Cammeraygal High School, Loreto Kirribilli, SCEGGS Redlands, St Aloysius' College, North Sydney Girls High School, North Sydney Boys High School, but welcome students from all schools.
Does the centre have any parking?
Parking in North Sydney can be limited during business hours. Short-term free parking is available on West Street, and metered street parking can be found on Ridge Street and nearby streets.
Are there amenities or shops close to your location?
Nearby amenities include local cafes, convenience stores, Greenwood Plaza, gyms and fitness studios, chemists and medical centres, Woolworths and Coles supermarkets, Victoria Cross Metro Station, and St Leonards Park.
What’s the best way to find your centre?
We're located on Ridge Street, right next to Marist Catholic College. If you're unsure, just give us a call and we'll happily guide you to the centre.
