Luke Major
Manager
Hi, my name is Luke; I grew up in Dunedin, New Zealand but recently hopped across the pond to continue doing what I love at NumberWorks’nWords St Ives. Since joining the company in 2016 I’ve tutored English and mathematics, managed the Dunedin centre for two years, and discovered my passion for education. I’m incredibly proud of our philosophy. We create personalised programs for each student that address their specific learning goals because we understand every child is unique. Our centre environment is fun, engaging, and children leave with smiles on their faces. On my weekends I head outdoors; bouldering, swimming and hiking with friends. Hi, I’m Trinity! I was born in China and had the wonderful opportunity to study in New Zealand, where I trained as a primary school teacher. Over the years, I’ve taught in New Zealand, Hong Kong and China, and I’ve loved every moment of helping children learn and grow.
As a mum of three, I truly understand how unique each child’s learning journey can be. I’m passionate about creating a positive and engaging environment where students feel excited and confident about their learning. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, reading and ice skating. I’m thrilled to be part of this wonderful community and to share my love for learning with all our students! I look forward to getting to know you all.

What are the lesson times?
Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, Monday to Friday, usually starting from 3:30pm. We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!
What ages do you teach?
We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).
What subjects do you teach?
At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.
What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?
Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.
