Eimear Hughes

Owner

Hi, I'm Eimear Hughes, the Owner/Manager of NumberWorks'nWords Erina. Before moving to Sydney from Belfast, Northern Ireland, in July 2007, I was a teacher and senior manager at a large primary school for over 13 years. I spent 2008 as Manager of NumberWorks'nWords St Ives before purchasing NumberWorks'nWords Mosman. In October 2022, I opened a brand-new second centre in North Sydney. I am very excited to be opening a third centre in Erina in January 2026.

I am a passionate educator who thrives on helping young learners maximise their potential. As a parent of two young children, I understand the challenges students face today. Many students are unhappy at school, struggling or bored, and that is where we can help.

When you visit any of our three centres, you will first notice the buzz of excitement and the welcoming environment. You will see students working on their own individual programs, supported by their tutors, having fun while learning and celebrating their successes. I am proud of our caring and respectful culture that motivates and inspires our students. I love seeing them build confidence and feel proud and successful. We are an award-winning tutoring centre, and the team and I look forward to meeting you and supporting your child’s learning journey.

I'm Ben, Manager of Mosman Centre which I absolutely love!

I first attended Numberworks'nWords, when I was just 10 years old until Year 12. Numberworks'nWords helped me grow in confidence and ability. I knew I wanted to work here once I finished school as I wanted to pass on what I had learnt and spent 6 wonderful years tutoring.

It's so exciting being able to watch our students start to enjoy maths and English and really thrive. I look forward to seeing more children grow in confidence as I once did.

What are the lesson times?

Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, Monday to Friday, usually starting from 3:30pm. We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!

What ages do you teach?

We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).

What subjects do you teach?

At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.

What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?

Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.

Which schools in the area do you have students attending from?

We have students from Mosman Public School, Mosman High School, Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, Beauty Point Public School, Middle Harbour Public School, Neutral Bay Public School, Queenwood School for Girls, SCEGGS Redlands, Shore School and Loreto Kirribilli, but we welcome students from all schools.

Does the centre have any parking?

Street parking is available on Military Road and the surrounding side streets. Free council parking can also be found nearby at Bridgepoint Shopping Centre car park and Mosman Square car park.

Nearby amenities include Bridgepoint Shopping Centre, cafes, bakeries, restaurants, a post office, banks, chemists, gyms, and local parks.

What’s the best way to find your centre?

NumberWorks’nWords Mosman is located on Military Road next to the newsagency and opposite Fitness First. Look out for the bright NumberWorks’nWords sign and posters at the entrance. If you’re unsure, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to guide you.
