Eimear Hughes
Owner
Hi, I'm Eimear Hughes, the Owner/Manager of NumberWorks'nWords Erina. Before moving to Sydney from Belfast, Northern Ireland, in July 2007, I was a teacher and senior manager at a large primary school for over 13 years. I spent 2008 as Manager of NumberWorks'nWords St Ives before purchasing NumberWorks'nWords Mosman. In October 2022, I opened a brand-new second centre in North Sydney. I am very excited to be opening a third centre in Erina in January 2026.
I am a passionate educator who thrives on helping young learners maximise their potential. As a parent of two young children, I understand the challenges students face today. Many students are unhappy at school, struggling or bored, and that is where we can help.
When you visit any of our three centres, you will first notice the buzz of excitement and the welcoming environment. You will see students working on their own individual programs, supported by their tutors, having fun while learning and celebrating their successes. I am proud of our caring and respectful culture that motivates and inspires our students. I love seeing them build confidence and feel proud and successful. We are an award-winning tutoring centre, and the team and I look forward to meeting you and supporting your child’s learning journey.

Frequently asked questions
What are the lesson times?
Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, Monday to Friday, usually starting from 3:30pm. We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!
What ages do you teach?
We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).
What subjects do you teach?
At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.
What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?
If your child is sick or unable to attend their lesson, please let us know by 2 pm on the day, and we would be happy to arrange a make-up lesson within the same term.
Which schools in the area do you have students attending from?
We have students from schools all across the Central Coast, including; Central Coast Grammar, Erina High, Green Point Christian College, Gosford High, Gosford Public School, Our Lady Star of the Sea, Point Clare Public School, St Edward’s, St. Joseph’s, Terrigal Public School and Woodport Public School.
Does the centre have any parking?
Yes, there is customer parking at the back of the centre. Just enter using the driveway to the right of the centre.
Are there amenities or shops close to your location?
We are a short walk from Erina Fair Shopping Centre and located on The Entrance Road, close to a wide variety of shops and cafes, including hair salons and gyms!

We are on the main road of The Entrance Road, right next to the Carpet Court.
