Owner

Hi, I'm Bridget, the owner of NumberWorks'nWords Karori. I was a secondary school teacher prior to owning a NumberWorks’nWords centre. I have been running a centre now for about 20 years.

I love working with our students, and their different needs and personalities. I love how NumberWorks’nWords, with our amazing young tutors and our computer based learning environment, caters for each child’s individual needs - whether it’s for confidence, remedial or extension support. We strive to foster an ongoing positive attitude towards learning in an enjoyable, welcoming environment.

Frequently asked questions

What are the lesson times?

Our centres run one-hour tutoring sessions after school, Monday to Friday, usually starting from 3:30pm. We aim to be as flexible as possible to fit around your child’s other activities. Just let us know what works best for you!

What ages do you teach?

We work with students aged 5 to 16, covering all levels of ability; from early learners to those preparing for exams or needing extension work (more of challenge).

What subjects do you teach?

At NumberWorks'nWords we specialise in both maths and English.

What happens if my child is sick and can't make it?

Let us know as soon as possible. We’ll cancel your child’s tutoring session for that day and schedule a make-up session during the same term.

Does the centre have any parking?

It is usually easy to find parking on and around Beauchamp Street, with free or two-hour parking available.

Are there amenities or shops close to your location?

The Karori Mall is just across the road, featuring Woolworths and New World supermarkets, a Paper Plus store, a sushi shop, and a café. We are located just down from Karori Library and right next to the Recreation Centre. Nearby, you’ll also find a Brumby’s bakery and other takeaway options.

What’s the best way to find your centre?

Our centre is located next to the Mary Potter Hospice Shop.
